Muscle tear
The 24-year-old was hurt in the 51st minute of the 3-1 win against Real Sociedad de Fútbol on Sunday and had to be replaced. After a brief examination, the Argentinian international was reported to be suffering from a small muscle tear in his right thigh. Medical staff ordered Aimar to rest for the next 15 days, forcing him out of Valencia's Group G match against Bremen on 29 September.
Injury troubles
Aimar had hoped his troubles were behind him, having been hampered during last season by thigh and groin strains when Valencia were crowned champions of Spain and won the UEFA Cup.
