Reporter's view: For 88 minutes on Saturday, Sevilla did a perfect job of preparing for Bayern, taking on Barcelona with confidence and aggression – and scoring twice to put Spain's champions-elect on the ropes. Then they conceded twice and suddenly there were heavy legs and deflated players. How to get back up again for the visit of the German champions – and without the suspended Éver Banega? Over to coach Vincenzo Montella!

Obviously, when you are competing at a high level across three competitions, as we are, it expends mental and physical energy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We aren't yet quite used to playing ultra high-level matches every three days and we need to be. In top-level football, it's the mind that moves the legs, tired or not, and in that respect we are fine. Bayern love to control the ball and regularly score lots of goals so we really have to force them to endure a different kind of game.

Jupp Heynckes, Bayern coach

Throughout their history, Bayern have played in lots of big games in front of great crowds all over the world. My players won't be scared by the atmosphere the Sevilla fans create. For both sets of players, this will be a beautiful experience. It's what we play for. My side won't go out to play for a draw, Bayern always plays to win. In fact, look how dangerous a 0-0 result proved to be for Manchester United.
