Reporter's view: "We can do it" was Danilo's rallying cry on the back page of Monday's Manchester Evening News. And City undoubtedly can. They've scored four goals or more 12 times this season. Last weekend, as Jürgen Klopp admitted, they could have had six against United. And yet there's one big, nagging question: can they keep Liverpool out? The Reds have scored in 19 of 23 away matches this season and have shown already they can hurt City. Whatever the outcome, goals and thrills seem a guarantee – sit back and enjoy.

Josep Guardiola, Man. City manager

To go through we need almost the perfect game – create chances, be clinical and allow few chances. All the conditions have to be perfect to go through. But in football everything can happen. If we concede, don't give up. Many times we created a lot of chances in a short period of time. We have to be clinical and if we're not clinical then move on to the next one.

Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool manager

If [this tie] was how everyone expected, then we'd already be halfway out and here to keep our pride and show a response. When we lost 5-0 here at the beginning of the season ... it was clear they'd be outstanding but there is no perfect football team in the world. I knew before that they can concede goals and we can concede goals too, and lose.
