Madrid's Estadio Metropolitano has been selected to host the 2019 UEFA Champions League final on 1 June of that year.
Built on the site of the former Estadio Olímpico de Madrid in the Spanish capital, the new home of Atlético opened on Saturday with their Liga game against Málaga.
Madrid's Estadio Santiago Bernabéu previously staged the European Cup finals of 1957, 1969, 1980 and 2010 among various other showcase fixtures. Madrid will become only the second city to have held five or more European Cup finals after London, and the fourth to have hosted the event in separate stadiums after Amsterdam, Paris and Munich.
The decision was taken at Wednesday's UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Nyon.
The 2018 final will take place on 26 May at Kyiv's NSK Olimpiyskyi Stadium
