• Porto beat Monaco in the 2004 UEFA Champions League final, running out 3-0 victors in Gelsenkirchen to take their second European title.

• Monaco and Beşiktaş have never played.

• Porto have won three of their four games against Beşiktaş. The Portuguese side won 1-0 away and 2-0 at home in the 2007/08 group stage, and also triumphed 3-1 in Istanbul in the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League group stage, before a 1-1 home draw.

• This is Leipzig's first European campaign.
