Frank and Ronald de Boer both shared some choice insights as they visited football-mad Vietnam with Ronaldinho as part of the 2017 UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, presented by Heineken.
The only twins to have lifted European football's most prestigious prize together, when Ajax defeated AC Milan in 1995, the pair wowed thousands in Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City and Bien Hoa.
Taking time out from their schedule for a Q&A session with followers of the UEFA Champions League Instagram account, the former Ajax, Barcelona and Rangers siblings looked back on their careers and predicted an uphill struggle for Barça in their quarter-final decider with Juventus.
Who were your footballing idols growing up?
Frank: For me, it was Ruud Krol. He was a player similar to me – he played for Ajax.
Ronald: For me, there's only one. He's not that much older than me, but Marco van Basten.
Who was the toughest opponent you ever came up against?
Frank: I always say it's myself. When I was fully focused I could manage anybody.
Ronald: Franco Baresi. Not that big but very clever.
Who's better at football?
Ronald: Me, of course! No, it was him.
Frank: I was better at defending!
Can Barcelona come back again?
Frank: It's going to be very hard. Juventus have a very good squad and defensively are very good.
Ronald: If there's one team that can do it then of course it's Barcelona, but against the Italians ... difficult.
Best derby you ever played in?
Frank: For me, El Clásico.
Ronald: For me personally, maybe not the quality, but for the intensity of the game, the Old Firm.
