Quarter-final draw: Bayern v Real Madrid, Juve v Barcelona

The UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw has been made: Bayern München v Real Madrid, Juventus v Barcelona, Atlético Madrid v Leicester and Borussia Dortmund v Monaco.

Bayern v Madrid

  • All 22 of Madrid-Bayern's competitive games have come in the European Cup, Madrid winning nine and Bayern 11
  • Madrid have won their last three matches against Bayern, including the 2013/14 semi-finals
  • Madrid were then coached by current Bayern trainer Carlo Ancelotti
  • Madrid won 4-0 in Munich in the second leg of that tie – Bayern's record home defeat in Europe
  • Bayern and Madrid have met in ten knockout ties and won five apiece
  • The teams met in a friendly in New Jersey in August, Danilo scoring the only goal
  • Toni Kroos and Xabi Alonso will be playing against former clubs
2015 final highlights: Barcelona 3-1 Juventus

Juventus v Barcelona

  • The teams met in the 2015 final in Berlin, Barça winning 3-1
  • Ivan Rakitić (4), Luis Suárez (68) and Neymar (90+7) scored for Barcelona, Álvaro Morata (55) for Juve
  • They have had seven competitive meetings, Barcelona winning three to Juve's two
  • The teams met in the 2002/03 last eight: it was 1-1 in Turin and 2-1 to the hosts in Barcelona
  • This tie will mark a return to the Camp Nou for Juve full-back Dani Alves

Atlético v Leicester

  • Two of Leicester's three previous European campaigns were ended by Atlético
  • The Spanish side won 3-1 on aggregate in the 1961/62 European Cup Winners' Cup first round
  • They also prevailed (2-1 at home and 2-0 away) in the 1997/98 UEFA Cup first round
  • Atlético have never lost at home to English opposition (W5 D5)

Dortmund v Monaco

  • The teams have never met before in a competitive fixture
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made 23 loan appearances for Monaco in 2010/11, scoring twice
  • Dortmund's overall record against French clubs is W6 D5 L5; only one of those defeats was at home
