Leicester City have confirmed that Craig Shakespeare will remain in charge of the UEFA Champions League contenders until the end of the season.
The 53-year-old took over in the wake of Claudio Ranieri's dismissal on 23 February and has since overseen Premier League wins against Liverpool and Hull City, lifting the English champions three points clear of the relegation zone.
"Craig's skills as a coach and the high regard in which he is held by everyone at the club were well known to us," said Foxes vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha. "We always knew the team would be in good hands when we asked him to take charge a fortnight ago."
A member of Leicester's coaching staff for seven of the last eight seasons, Shakespeare will look to steer the club into the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, when they host Sevilla trailing 2-1.
The first-leg defeat in Spain was Ranieri's final match in charge, after he pulled off one of the most remarkable upsets in football history by leading Leicester to their maiden English title last term.
