The players are even more receptive than usual to what we say to them because of what's at stake. We need to win by two goals and we have 90–95 minutes to do that. We mustn't think that we need to do all the work right at the start of the game.

Their philosophy doesn't change and they'll want to have possession and press us high. It will mean an open game as that's also the way we play, especially at home. It should be a chance-filled game where there's a lot of space.

We're going to ignore the various permutations, including the fact a one-goal loss would see us through. We need to be motivated. Lyon are almost at full strength and they're at home. They have the same hopes and dreams as we do so we'll have to adapt to the circumstances.

We need to keep faith with our usual style, otherwise we'll suffer. If we suffer then we'll lose. It's about sticking to our philosophy. It won't be difficult having a touchline ban. The players hold the keys to this match, even if I would love to be pitchside.

Lyon are certainly capable of managing the two-goal win they need to advance, though Sevilla's greater experience of decisive European matches could prove telling.

If Lyon are to achieve the required result then Mathieu Valbuena must maintain his current good form and Alexandre Lacazette will have to be sharp in front of goal. The atmosphere promises to be like nothing the Parc OL has witnessed in the 12 months since it opened.
