Bayern and Atlético out to preserve winning runs

Club Atlético de Madrid can achieve a piece of club history with victory in their final Group D fixture against FC Bayern München.

• Both sides have already secured qualification for the knockout rounds but section winners Atlético are looking to complete a clean sweep of wins in a UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time.

• Bayern, six points behind Atlético in second place, have a different record on their minds. With their 4-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven on matchday three they made it 14 straight home wins in the UEFA Champions League – a competition best.

Previous meetings
• Eventual runners-up Atlético overcame Bayern on away goals in last season's semi-final with the help of a 1-0 home success, Saúl Ñíguez the scorer. Bayern won the return 2-1, Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski scoring either side of Antoine Griezmann on a night when Thomas Müller and Fernando Torres both had penalties saved.

• Adrián López and Radamel Falcao struck when Atlético last won in Germany – 2-1 at Hannover 96 in the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. Diego Godín, Koke, Filipe Luís and Tiago played for the Madrid club that night.

Chapecoense commemoration
Teams taking part in all of the matchday six UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches will observe a minute's silence to pay respect to the victims of last week's air disaster involving the Chapecoense team and accompanying delegation. The Brazilian club lost most of their players and coaching staff in the accident, which occurred in Colombia, where Chapecoense were due to play the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final against Atlético Nacional.

"European football is united in expressing its deepest sympathy to Chapecoense, the Brazilian Football Confederation [CBF], CONMEBOL and the families of all the victims," said UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin. "This tragedy has shaken the world of football, and we would like to send our support to all of those affected by it."
