André Schubert, Mönchengladbach coach
We're huge outsiders going into this game, we know that. However, I remember people saying after last season's 3-0 defeat by Sevilla that Borussia Mönchengladbach don't belong anywhere near the Champions League. Now I think people see us as being up at this level.
We've had some very difficult games in the group, and none of them have been clear-cut. We're not going to try and pull something extraordinary out of the hat tomorrow – it's about looking to contain Man. City as best we can. We're focusing on our strengths and how we can seize our opportunity.
Josep Guardiola, City manager
We were so happy with beating Barcelona, but it was just one game. We cannot be considered favourites to win [the title]. Maybe in ten years but we need time to achieve that. Barça and Real Madrid are there every year. I am trying to do a lot in the next few years to be [at their level]. Gladbach are a really good team and they have a good mentality.
Kompany has a problem with his knee. He could be out for weeks. He's sad and I'm sad. It's a long time he doesn't play. We have to try and help him to get that regularity, training week after week and to be able to play more often.
Weekend results
Mönchengladbach 1-2 Köln (Stindl 32; Modeste 59, Risse 90+1)
Though the Foals scored for the first time in six Bundesliga fixtures on Saturday, they nevertheless lost 2-1 to Köln and are without a win in four matches in all competitions.
Crystal Palace 1-2 Man. City (Wickham 66; Touré 39 83)
After a run of six games without a victory in all competitions, City have now triumphed in three of their last four outings. Yaya Touré got both goals on his first Premier League appearance of the season.

This is a case of win or bust for Mönchengladbach. Only victory will keep alive their hopes of a last-16 place, but Borussia-Park is no longer the fortress of old; Saturday's defeat by Köln means the Foals have won just one of their last six home fixtures – and that was against second-division Stuttgart in the cup. Gladbach came close to shocking Barcelona in September, however, and will need a similar performance to stand any chance of beating Guardiola's charges here.

Guardiola's first match in charge of Bayern München was a 3-1 home success over Gladbach in August 2013. However, his Bayern side failed to beat the Foals in each of the last two campaigns. Read more in our extensive match background.
