Group A
Ludogorets Razgrad 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain
Natanael's free-kick opener for the hosts was cancelled out by Blaise Matuidi's first goal for Paris since last season's French Cup final. Edinson Cavani edged Unai Emery's men in front before Alphonse Aréola saved Cosmin Moţi's spot kick. Cavani's second rubber-stamped the points.

Arsenal 2-0 Basel
Arsenal ran out comfortable winners against a Basel side hitherto unbeaten this term, Theo Walcott registering twice before the half-hour mark in north London.

Group B
Beşiktaş 1-1 Dynamo Kyiv
Making only his second appearance in Europe's premier club competition, Viktor Tsygankov, 18, restored parity after Ricardo Quaresma had put Beşiktaş in the ascendancy with a powerful free-kick.

Napoli 4-2 Benfica
Marek Hamšík's near-post header set Napoli en route to another three points. The Serie A outfit put themselves out of sight with three goals in eight second-half minutes, Dries Mertens providing two of them, before a late Benfica rally.

Group C
Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-2 Barcelona

Monchengladbach-born Marc-André ter Stegen's return to his former club looked like being an unhappy one until Arda Turan levelled midway through the second half. Gerard Piqué, pouncing on a goalkeeping error, completed the turnaround.

Celtic 3-3 Manchester City
Moussa Dembélé struck twice, his second an improvised acrobatic effort, as Celtic halted Josep Guardiola's ten-game winning start as City boss. Raheem Sterling was on target at both ends for the visitors, who trailed three times, first deflecting in a Kieran Tierney shot before making it 2-2 after a neat turn on the edge of the area.

Group D
Atlético Madrid 1-0 Bayern München
Atlético prevailed in a repeat of last season's semi-final. Yannick Carrasco's left-foot drive in off the far post sealed the Rojiblancos's second victory and curtailed Bayern's run of eight consecutive wins under Carlo Ancelotti. Antoine Griezmann's late penalty miss proved inconsequential.

Rostov 2-2 PSV Eindhoven
Soslan Dzhanaev earned debutants Rostov, who twice led courtesy of Dmitri Poloz, their first group stage point by saving Davy Pröpper's 57th-minute penalty.
