Phillip Cocu, PSV coach
Atlético are a strong team who play good football. We won't get 15 chances. We also have to be organised to prevent them settling into their game. We need to have a top day and play with passion and guts – everything. Then we can get a good result. You have to be realistic, but our aim is that to still be in the Champions League after the group stage.

Diego Simeone, Atlético coach
Almost everyone is fit and sharp, including the players on the bench. We have a plan that we can adapt if necessary during the game. We are ready for a busy period of matches and we will do everything we can tomorrow. This game is a bit different [to our round of 16 tie last season] because then we played home and away.

Reporter's view: Chris Driessen
Phillip Cocu is hoping to spring a "surprise" against a team that ended PSV's UEFA Champions League hopes on penalties in the round of 16 last season. Cocu, like his opposite number, has a near full squad to choose from and is likely to restore Santiago Arias and Andrés Guardado to the team after they were rested at the weekend.
