"I hit it and I knew straight away that it had a chance of going in."
Not many others gave it much consideration as the ball fell to Aaron Ramsey midway inside the Galatasaray half following a corner, but, with it on the up, the Wales midfielder made majestic contact. "I just thought, 'Why not?'. If it goes way over we can get the team back into shape and regroup."
Once Ramsey had struck it there was no doubt about where it would end up. "You know, sometimes when you just hit the sweet spot in the ball and it's headed towards goal it's going to have a chance, and thankfully it just went into the top corner. It's definitely the best goal I've ever scored."
The goal helped Arsenal to a 4-1 win on matchday six and was voted the third best in the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League.
