Hubert Fournier, Lyon coach
In a normal year we would already be out of contention, but Group H is a bit unusual and despite having just one point we are still alive. We do not have our destiny in our own hands so we have to be faultless and at our best for what will be the last European night at the Gerland. [Lyon move to the Stade de Lyon in January.]

There have been some great matches played here and I hope we can be at the same level. We fear this Gent team, though. They were good in our first match and we learned that without full focus, organisation and power, we will not get results.

The first game of a campaign is always very important and it was no different here. A win in the first game would have given us real serenity ... we drew [against nine men and missed a late penalty].

Hein Vanhaezebrouck, Gent coach
Anything is possible but it will be very difficult. We know Lyon will give everything to win at home; they will be very motivated. We know that even if we lose we might still have a chance. Our supporters won't be here tomorrow – it is a pity but we have to follow security measures.

We will focus on football. We want to please the people who come to the stadium in order to forget about all this. As a club Lyon have a lot of experience in Europe, but they have young players who, like us, are not very experienced.
