It is a story that could have been lifted from a comic book, but for Juliano Belletti the fantastic fiction was reality. Coming off the bench with his Barcelona side trailing in the UEFA Champions League final, he helped the Blaugrana pull the game level against Arsenal before scoring the winner himself to lift the trophy – there is no question what Belletti's magic moment is.
"What I did was something special," said the Brazilian right-back, whose clincher in that 2005/06 final against the Gunners was his first and only goal for Barcelona. "I couldn't believe it. I tried to get up and celebrate but, no chance – I knelt down with my hands on my face."
Despite a career which brought two Liga medals, a Premier League triumph with Chelsea and 2002 FIFA World Cup glory, his winning goal at the Stade de France still cannot be topped. "I never went into the game and thought about scoring – and today when my children see that goal they don't believe it! But it was special because it is good to go down in history."
