Robert Lewandowski has perhaps been this season's form striker, with 23 goals already to his name at the end of October. Thomas Müller has not grabbed quite so many headlines as his five-goals-in-ten-minutes-friend, but he is not far behind in the overall count on 16. So what do the Bayern München pair have to say about each other?

It's always easier to play football with good footballers around you. That's the case with Thomas. We understand each other. He is always on the move. Bayern is a special place – there are so many great players. It's easier to score with the passes delivered by them.

Coming back to Thomas, he is a fantastic player and it's great to play with him. He is always looking to pass – that's why it works so well between us. I hope [our partnership] will only get better and better!

His qualities are indisputable. There are many top players at the top level all over Europe, but you also need to be in the right team at the right time. And all the players on the pitch are playing very well with each other at the moment.

The strikers in the centre, Lewy or me, are always given really good service, and then it depends on the striker to finish, but we always have good service. He is on a great run at the moment. But he already had those qualities – he is very important for us.
