Unai Emery, Sevilla coach
We are proud of the final result. We are becoming consistent and we are maturing. We got into dangerous positions, which is the reason we won three penalties. We will take it match by match and enjoy ourselves as well as trying to compete. This has been a big day for all Sevilla supporters.
It is a great victory that gives us cause for optimisim. It was very important to win at home in the first match, especially in a group where the favourites are Juventus and Manchester City.
The score in the other game in the group is no real surprise to me – it shows how strong Juventus are. The most difficult ambition is to compete with the best teams and the best ones are in the Champions League.
Lucien Favre, Mönchengladbach coach
We wanted to get a good result and at half-time that's what we had. We had good possession of the ball but then the three penalties were awarded. The main issue is that we conceded goals and let Sevilla into dangerous positions. We made mistakes before the penalties.
It's hard but we are progressing. The team we have now cannot be compared with the team we had in February.
