It was a strange game. I don't think we deserved to lose. We played better than Juventus. We had three clear opportunities to score. [Gianluigi] Buffon made some very good saves and we were very unlucky, especially for the first goal. We controlled the game.
When we have chances we must score. The differences are very slight, especially against a strong team like Juventus. Maybe Juventus didn't create so many chances, but they finished well.
Vincent [Kompany] has a calf injury. We will see tomorrow. We will see how significant it is.
I don't think the result is just on one player. Sergio [Agüero] will always be a very important player but we played better than Juventus. We played better than them but they scored their goals.
I don't think we need to learn from other years. The last two seasons we started losing the first game and qualified for the next stage. We are just starting. We never want to lose here at home. We never want to lose important points.
Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus coach
We should give the credit to the players – it wasn't easy but we did what we had to do. We could have done better in the first half, we did not concede that much ground and Buffon was extraordinary. In the second half we were better, especially up front.
This is a result my players deserve. We could have conceded the second goal but Buffon saved it and then we got our first goal.
Serie A is different to the Champions League. This competition has come at the right time for us, it is fascinating and gives us extra motivation. This victory will boost our morale, also for the league. You must be good when you attack but you must also be balanced when you defend if you want to win the game.
This is our first game in this Champions League season. The players did extremely well. We were very disciplined in defence and played pretty well in attack. We were very compact. Buffon pulled off several miraculous saves, particularly just after we went 1-0 down.
This is a new team, we have only been training together for a week. This win gives the players a bit more confidence. On Sunday we can try and get our first victory in Serie A.
