Key points
• UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla FC go straight into the UEFA Champions League group stage rather than the play-offs as FC Barcelo had already qualified via their domestic competition before winning in Berlin.

• With Spain having an extra club in the UEFA Champions League as Sevilla finished outside the top five, they lose a UEFA Europa League group slot, with Switzerland's cup winners FC Sion getting it in their place instead of a third qualifying round berth. A Cypriot team moves from the second to third qualifying round and the Swedish and Bulgarian Cup winners are excused the first qualifying round.

• The cup winners of the top 12 countries go into the UEFA Europa League group stage. Cup runners-up can no longer enter Europe via that route even if the cup winners have a UEFA Champions League berth.
