The UEFA Champions League trophy will be taken on a guided tour of the German capital after being formally handed to the city of Berlin by UEFA President Michel Platini.

The final venue will receive the silverware from Mr Platini during a ceremony at the Red Town Hall on Monday 27 April, and two days later – Wednesday 29 April – celebrities from the worlds of sport, music, film and television will transport the biggest prize in world club football around the city, Tennis player Sabine Lisicki, footballer Arne Friedrich, and popular musicians Max Herre and Joy Denalane are among the celebrity guides who have been chosen, along with TV presenters Matthias Killing and Palina Rojinski.

Some of the journey will be undertaken on foot, but the trophy will also do as all Berliners do and take a ride in a Trabi – the now cult motorcar associated with the former East Germany – and a cycle taxi, as well as enjoying a journey on the S-Bahn and U-Bahn local rail services.

Fans in Berlin will also witness the unveiling of the five winners of the UEFA Legendary Moments promotion, with the five bits of action that proved the most exciting for UEFA.com users to be put on display at major sights across the city as part of a series of installations designed by Berlin-based artistic duo Peachbeach. The installations will remain part of the cityscape until the final on Saturday 6 June as the excitement builds ahead of the biggest game in the European season.

Media representatives are not invited to follow the whole tour, but there will be opportunities to meet the trophy and its guides at the following locations:

09.00: Monbijouplatz – Arne Friedrich
09.45: Potsdamer Platz – Palina Rojinski
10.25: Breitscheidplatz – Joy Denalane and Max Herre
11.35: East Side Gallery – Sabine Lisicki
12.55: Alexanderplatz – Matthias Killing

The exact route of the city tour will be published in advance on UEFA.com.
