Arsenal FC are out of the UEFA Champions League despite a 2-0 win at AS Monaco FC and Per Mertesacker hopes that the round of 16 second-leg performance will spur the Gunners the domestic honours.
The 3-1 first-leg deficit proved too much to overturn at Stade Louis II, but with Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-finals and on a fine late Premier League run, the Germany defender is accentuating the positives. "There was a mountain to climb but we showed a different face and that should give us confidence for the FA Cup and the league."
