Ibrahimović goes outright tenth in all-time list

Zlatan Ibrahimović moved out on his own into tenth place in the list of European Cup all-time scorers with his goal for Paris Saint-Germain at FC Barcelona in Group F on Wednesday.

Ibrahimović – the only player to have scored for six different clubs in the UEFA Champions League – has now registered on 43 occasions in the competition, one more than Alessandro Del Piero. Real Madrid CF forward Karim Benzema is a further goal adrift in 12th spot.

Just five players have ever reached a half-century in Europe's premier club competition: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raúl González, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry. Messi, who broke Raúl's overall record with a hat-trick in Barcelona's 4-0 defeat of APOEL FC on matchday five, leads the way on 75 goals, having cancelled out Ibrahimović's opener for Paris on Wednesday. Ronaldo climbed ahead of Raúl into outright second place with a penalty for Madrid against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday.
