Pride in elimination for Olympiacos and Malmö

In the end it was difficult. It's happened often this season. To play well, miss chances but then concede every time our opponents get through midfield. We have had a great run this season in the Champions League. I'm satisfied with our showing, apart from the match against Atlético in Madrid.

We didn't get to the next phase of the Champions League because we were up against two European giants, Atlético and Juventus. We can't blame our defence. Today we conceded two goals from counterattacks. We've had this problem this year. It's not our defenders who are to blame but they way our defensive system, in general, has performed.

I don't feel that we've been knocked out of the Champions League, rather that we are continuing in the Europa League. The team deserves to continue on the European stage. We have a much smaller budget compared to other big European teams and we've done very well, so I congratulate my players. I'm satisfied, but can't say I'm happy because we wanted to go through to the next phase of the Champions League like we did last season.

It was a job well done. We played very well as a team, a complete match. We had to win and we did that. In order to qualify we depended on another result and that didn't go our way unfortunately. Last year we were the ones to advance to the Champions League, this season it's our turn to continue in the UEFA Europa League.

Recently we have had some unfortunate results, but today the team displayed patience and fought for 90 minutes to clinch victory. We deserved to win.

It's important to win the home matches, but also not to lose away. It's a lesson for the future. This season we did well at home, but were unable to get a point away and that undermined our qualification efforts.

I am very happy with my goal today and it will serve me as motivation to continue working and improving. But obviously the victory was more important, as was the effort of all my team-mates.

Congratulations are in order for the whole team. We played very well and managed to win. We got nine points again, but didn't go through to the next stage. The match in Sweden was the crucial one; we could have got more out of that.

We can do well in the UEFA Europa League. We have the potential to go far and we need to believe in ourselves. If I were to point out the crucial moment of our Champions League campaign, I believe it is that two-minute span in the Turin match, when Juventus turned the match around from 1-2 to 3-2. But there are also other factors that cost us qualification.

Overall, however, we can be proud of our journey. We won our home matches and lost the away ones. In such a tough group, it was expected that our opponents would be strong at their own ground.

My players did what they could. Olympiacos initially pressed, but we kept our composure and managed to equalise twice. We lost our concentration in the end and the players got tired, but I'm proud of them − they did their best. We just had a very bad last six minutes. Everything else went to plan. The last six minutes cost us. Things never go as planned if you can't deal with the opposition's set pieces and corners.

The group standings reflect reality. Olympiacos won both their other home games against good opponents and we didn't do that.

These have been good six games for us. We were the first Swedish team in 15 years [to make it to the group stage] and we did well. We played good football, were a bit unlucky in a few games and could have got more points. But in all six games we played really good football.

We took three points in Sweden and could have taken more at home against both Atlético and Juventus. Today, with a bit of luck, we could have also won. It is never nice to finish last in the group, but we are a small team and got much experience from this season. I hope that we can be here next year as well.
