Madrid break new ground, Juve grab derby win

Real Madrid CF clinched a club-record 16th consecutive win in all competitions on a weekend that brought derby joy for Juventus and more success for FC Bayern München.

Real Madrid CF continued their formidable form this weekend with a club-record 16th consecutive victory in all competitions, downing Málaga CF to serve another reminder of their potential this term. There were further wins too for the likes of FC Bayern München, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, with Juve claiming the Turin derby spoils, while Chelsea FC were held to a goalless draw at Sunderland AFC.

Group A
• Club Atlético de Madrid sealed a fifth consecutive home victory in the Liga, easing past RC Deportivo La Coruña 2-0.
• Andrea Pirlo scored deep in added time to seal a 2-1 derby win for Juventus against Torino FC.
• Alejandro Domínguez struck twice as Olympiacos FC triumphed 4-0 at Kerkyra FC.
• Having completed the Swedish league campaign as champions, Malmö FF were not in action.

• Real Madrid registered a club record 16th successive win, edging Málaga CF 2-1.
• Shkelzen Gashi hit both goals as Swiss leaders FC Basel 1893 saw off closest rivals FC Zürich 2-1.
• Liverpool FC left it late to down Stoke City FC 1-0, ending a run of three straight league defeats.
• PFC Ludogorets Razgrad closed within three points of Bulgarian leaders PFC CSKA Sofia with a 5-1 win against PFC Lokomotiv Sofia.

• Josip Drmić and Karim Bellarabi both struck twice as Bayer 04 Leverkusen beat 1. FC Köln 5-1.
• AS Monaco FC dropped to tenth in Ligue 1 after succumbing 2-0 to Stade Rennais FC.
• Russian leaders FC Zenit suffered their second league defeat in three games, going down 1-0 at FC Mordovia Saransk.
• Portuguese pacesetters SL Benfica clinched a 2-0 success at A. Académica de Coimbra.

• Borussia Dortmund suffered an eighth loss in 13 Bundesliga games, lying bottom after a 2-0 reverse at Eintracht Frankfurt.
• Danny Welbeck headed the only goal as Arsenal FC prevailed 1-0 at West Bromwich Albion FC.
• RSC Anderlecht remain second in Belgium after being held 2-2 by frontrunners Club Brugge KV.
• Galatasaray AŞ bounced back from two defeats in the space of five days by downing Gaziantepspor 1-0.

• Unbeaten Bundesliga leaders Bayern eked out a 1-0 victory at Hertha BSC Berlin.
• Miralem Pjanić hit a pair of goals as AS Roma kept within three points of the Serie A summit by beating FC Internazionale Milano 4-2.
• Ten-man Manchester City FC struck three times in the second half to seal a 3-0 success at Southampton FC.
• PFC CSKA Moskva remain seven points behind Zenit in Russia following a 5-0 rout of FK Ufa.

• Zlatan Ibrahimović scored from the spot as Paris consigned OGC Nice to a 1-0 loss.
• Sergio Busquets registered in the 94th minute to clinch a 1-0 win for FC Barcelona at Valencia CF.
• AFC Ajax missed the chance to go top in the Eredivisie as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at ADO Den Haag.
• Cypriot pacesetters APOEL FC enjoyed a 1-0 success against Nicosia neighbours AC Omonia.

• Chelsea failed to score for the first time this term, drawing 0-0 at Sunderland AFC.
• Islam Slimani was on target twice in Sporting Clube de Portugal's 3-0 win against Vitória FC.
• Klaas-Jan Huntelaar struck his 100th FC Schalke 04 goal in a 4-1 defeat of 1. FSV Mainz 05.
• NK Maribor remain six points off the top in Slovenia despite overcoming NK Rudar Velenje 3-2.

• Alex Teixeira buried a double to help second-placed FC Shakhtar Donetsk down FC Metalurh Zaporizhya 4-0 in Ukraine.
• Athletic Club prevailed 2-1 at Getafe CF thanks to efforts from Mikel San José and Beñat.
• Belarusian champions FC BATE Borisov ended their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk.
