FC Zenit forward Hulk will miss the Russian club's first two UEFA Champions League Group C matches because of a thigh injury.
The Brazilian international was substituted seven minutes from the end of Zenit's 1-0 weekend victory at FC Lokomotiv Moskva. On Monday a scan showed he is likely to be sidelined for four to six weeks, ruling him out of the trip to SL Benfica on 16 September and the visit of AS Monaco FC on 1 October, plus several domestic fixtures.
Hulk has been in fine form this season. The 28-year-old has scored five goals in six Premier-Liga outings for leaders Zenit, who have a 100% record, and last week was on target twice in the UEFA Champions League play-off second leg against R. Standard de Liège.
