Cristian Tello has joined FC Porto from FC Barcelona on a two-year loan deal.
Tello's move to Porto – who have the option of making the arrangement permanent – means a reunion with coach Julen Lopetegui, under whom he won the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Israel. Tello will now join his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp in Horst in the Netherlands.
Born in Sabadell, 20km north of Barcelona, the 22-year-old is a product of the Barcelona academy. He made his debut for the Blaugrana senior team in 2011 and has scored 20 goals in 86 appearances for the club. He has also won one full international cap, in a friendly against Ecuador in August 2013.
Tello becomes the third Spaniard to sign for Porto this season, following in the footsteps of Óliver Torres and Adrián López, who both arrived from Club Atlético de Madrid. The Dragons will begin their 2014/15 European campaign in next month's UEFA Champions League play-offs.
