We are not even a quarter of a way through voting to find the best ever goal scored in UEFA competition, but Gheorghe Hagi has already emerged as a clear leader.
The former Romanian international's thunderous strike for Galatasaray AŞ against AS Monaco FC in the 2000/01 group stage has an average mark of 4.78 out of 5. He is 0.44 clear of a chasing pack headed by Taison's majestic UEFA Europa League strike for FC Metalist Khariv in 2012. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of three Portuguese entries in the top ten, is third.
Hagi's strike has also been rated by three times more people than any other goal, storming through the 20,000 barrier over the past week. But are they right? Is there another one of the 60 goals that catches your eye? Marco van Basten's imperious volley for the Netherlands in the EURO '88 final, perhaps? How about this from Eric Pereira last season?
