Cesare Prandelli has made his first moves as Galatasaray AŞ coach by tying down centre-back Semih Kaya on a long-term deal and signing two players for the future.
The 56-year-old Prandelli, confirmed as Roberto Mancini's successor on Tuesday, has convinced Kaya, 23, to remain a Cimbom player until June 2018. "I'm very happy to be staying at my home," the Turkish international explained. "The contract states 2018 but I have a connection to Galatasary from my heart." Since making his first-team breakthrough in 2008/09, Kaya has amassed 86 top-flight appearances for Galatasary, winning back-to-back Super League titles in 2012 and 2013.
The Istanbul club have also snared 20-year-old German winger Sinan Gümüş and midfielder Kaan Baysal, 18, from VfB Stuttgart and PSV Eindhoven respectively. "I'm very excited and can't wait to hear the support of our fans. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from [Wesley] Sneijder," said Baysal.
