Brazilian midfielder Marlos has joined FC Shakhtar Donetsk from FC Metalist Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian champions have agreed a five-year deal with the 26-year-old winger, who registered nine goals in 53 Premier-Liha appearances for the Kharkiv side, though no details of the fee have been disclosed. "We hope Marlos will add attacking strength to our team and help us achieve our goals in the UEFA Champions League and Ukrainian Premier League," said Shakhtar general director Serhiy Palkin.

The former Coritiba FBC and São Paulo FC player could make his debut for the Pitmen on 22 July in the Ukrainian Super Cup against FC Dynamo Kyiv. His arrival follows that of Olexandr Gladkiy from FC Karpaty Lviv and Shakhtar academy graduates Sergiy Bolbat and Ivan Ordets, returning from loans at FC Metalurh Donetsk and FC Illychivets Mariupil respectively.
