As the UEFA Champions League trophy is handed over to Lisbon ahead of the 24 May UEFA Champions League final, Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) president Fernando Gomes is excited to find the capital once more at the centre of the footballing world.
"Portugal is a country that loves football, and has shown how it can organise events at a European level like EURO 2004 and the Europa League final in 2005," he told UEFA.com. "To once again have the possibility to have the final of the Champions League in Portugal is a great challenge for the Portuguese federation."
