United and Bayern 'looking foward' to quarter-final

His team have drawn the holders and a side unbeaten in 50 Bundesliga matches, but Manchester United FC manager David Moyes does not mind one bit – having flirted with elimination in the round of 16, he is simply glad to still be involved in the UEFA Champions League.

The Red Devils boss is "looking forward" to a quarter-final against FC Bayern München, a team setting record after record under Josep Guardiola. In stark contrast to the German side, the Old Trafford club are struggling domestically, though Philipp Lahm, who along with Arjen Robben views the English title holders as a special draw, says the Bavarians "cannot allow Manchester United's current position to affect our mindset".

When we were 2-0 down to Olympiacos a week or so ago, I don't think a lot of people were putting us through to the quarter-final draw. So, in a lot of ways, it didn't matter who I drew. But I've got to say I've drawn out the favourites and obviously the holders of the competition as well, so it's a really tough draw for us but one that I'm looking forward to.

If you're old-fashioned, you'd say you always want to be home in the second leg. I've got to say that would be the preference. But the way the game's going now with counterattacking football and a different approach by teams away from home, we've got it and that's the way the draw came out. We're at home in the first leg and away in the second, we just have to take it.

It is a fantastic draw. Old Trafford is a great stadium with a special atmosphere. We have had some great games there in the past. I am looking forward to it. We cannot allow Manchester United's current position in the Premier League to affect our mindset for this game. We will travel to Manchester in order to play attacking football and score goals. I don't think it matters if you play the away leg first. Last year we played at home first a lot of the time and still managed to win the trophy. The most important thing for us will be to score goals in the away leg.

We have to be focused right from the start of the game at Old Trafford. Robin van Persie is a world-class player but we do not need to be afraid of United. We are ready.

It was obvious there wouldn't be any easy draws in the quarter-finals. There wasn't a single team before the draw where I would have said: 'Yeah, we'd prefer them.' Manchester United showed a great performance to turn the tie around against Olympiacos and proved they are a quality side.

It is a good draw, since we can play the away leg first. Manchester United are not in great form at the moment, but they are still a very good side. We expect two top games and are all looking forward to it.
