Borussia Dortmund have suffered another dose of bad luck after Marco Reus and Sven Bender both incurred thigh injuries during Saturday's 5-1 win against SV Werder Bremen.

Sven Bender and Marco Reus both succumbed to thigh injuries during Borussia Dortmund's emphatic 5-1 Bundesliga defeat of SV Werder Bremen at the weekend.

Dortmund's medical team, headed by Markus Braun, diagnosed Bender with a strained right thigh muscle, ruling the German international out for around seven days. As for Reus, he has torn muscle fibres, meaning the 24-year-old faces a race against time to be fit for his side's UEFA Champions League round of 16 opener with FC Zenit in Russia on 25 February.

This latest setback comes at a time when Dortmund's absentee list already includes Jakub Błaszczykowski, Neven Subotić (both knee), Mats Hummels (ankle) and İlkay Gündoğan (back).
