Paris Saint-Germain have handed a one-year contract extension to Maxwell, tying the Brazilian international left-back to the club until June 2015.
The 32-year-old, in his third season with the capital side, is a regular starter under Laurent Blanc and has made 18 Ligue 1 appearances this term. Signed from FC Barcelona at the start of 2012, Maxwell has since featured in 65 top-flight games, scoring five times. He also helped Paris to last season's French title and UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, where they lost to his former employers.
"I am very proud of president Nasser Al-Khelaifi's confidence in me," said Maxwell, previously with Cruzeiro EC, AFC Ajax and FC Internazionale Milano. "I will continue to give my all for the club and our supporters to pay back this confidence." The news comes two days after midfielder Blaise Matuidi also put pen to paper on a new deal.
Paris won 4-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The second leg at Parc des Princes is on Wednesday 12 March.
