Arsenal FC have strengthened their midfield department by bringing in Swedish international Kim Källström on loan from FC Spartak Moskva until the end of the season.
With Aaron Ramsey sidelined for another six weeks due to a thigh injury, the Gunners have signed up the 31-year-old to help their challenge for honours in the UEFA Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. Källström joins the north London club after signing for Spartak in summer 2012, since when he has made 26 league appearances.
"Arsenal is an amazing club with a lot of great players and a coach who has done really well here for a long time," said the player. "I am so pleased to come here to learn as much as possible. I'm here to do my best for Arsenal and to help out the team, so we can achieve good results for the last part of the season."
Capped 108 times by Sweden, the free-kick expert moved to Russia from Olympique Lyonnais, where he racked up 199 Ligue 1 outings and a pair of French title wins, as well as two Coupe de France triumphs, having joined from Stade de Reims in 2006. Arsenal will tackle holders FC Bayern München in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on 19 February and 11 March.
