Club Atlético de Madrid full-back Filipe Luís has emerged as a serious doubt to face AC Milan in the teams' UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg in Italy on 19 February after the Brazilian international suffered a right adductor muscle tear.
The 28-year-old – who has featured in 30 games in all competitions for Diego Simeone's side this season – sustained the injury early on in Atlético's 2-1 Copa del Rey quarter-final second-leg victory at Athletic Club on Wednesday (which brought a 3-1 aggregate success). Although Atlético failed to issue a recovery time, the left-sided defender will reportedly be sidelined for four to six weeks. The Colchoneros conclude their last-16 tie against the Italian outfit at the Vicente Calderón on 11 March.
