FC Bayern München have extended the contract of Rafinha by three years until the summer of 2017.
After David Alaba and Jérôme Boateng, the right-back is the third player to renew his terms with the European champions in recent weeks. The Brazilian international, 28, is in his third campaign in Munich, having joined from Genoa CFC in summer 2011.
Rafinha, who prior to his spell in Italy spent five seasons with FC Schalke 04, has missed only three games in all competitions this term. "It is very important for me, my career and my family that I have the chance to continue working for one of the best clubs in the world," he told Bayern's in-house television channel. "I am very proud."
On Tuesday, Rafinha helped Josep Guardiola's side defeat China's Guangzhou Evergrande FC 3-0 in their FIFA Club World Cup semi-final. Moroccan hosts Raja Casablanca provide the opposition in the showpiece on Saturday.
