Real Sociedad de Fútbol have rewarded long-serving defender Jon Ansotegi with a one-year contract extension that runs until 30 June 2015.
The 31-year-old – who has scored nine goals in 169 Liga appearances for the Basque side since making his senior bow in 2006 – declared himself "very happy" after penning his new deal with the UEFA Champions League challengers.
"I'm currently experiencing the best sporting moments with this club since I came here," said the centre-back. La Real president Jokin Aperribay added: "We've tied down one of the club captains and a person who is of fundamental importance in the dressing room."
The Txuri-urdin sit bottom of UEFA Champions League Group A and next travel to FC Shakhtar Donetsk on 27 November before a matchday six home game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in December.
