Laurent Blanc, Paris coach
We are disappointed because we had prepared to win the game. We had warned the players that they should not think about the first game [a 5-0 win on matchday three] but focus on our target, which was to go through with three more points. We failed to do so. We are obviously disappointed.

We had a lot of good opportunities. I regret that Anderlecht converted their only chance. Compared with our recent games, technically we were under par. We had chances to score a second goal but we lacked composure and were sloppy. I also regret the first 15 minutes. We started well and could have scored a goal to make the game easier. Now we must make amends in our next match and advance.

John van den Brom, Anderlecht coach
I can only say that I am extremely proud of my boys. Through being organised we have taken revenge for the 5-0 defeat we suffered at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadion. We played very well, we were disciplined and we fought to get a good result here. Everybody gave something extra. We played good football and scored a fantastic goal.

We have had to wait four European matches for this, for things to go the way we wanted them to. That is terrific. We have had to deal with a lot lately – me included – so this is quite an explosion of joy for us. This is something I will be enjoying, that is for sure.
