We played well, but the road is still long and we must keep working. We knew that Dortmund were a dangerous team, especially with [Robert] Lewandowski, and even when they were reduced to ten men, they tried to hit us on the counterattack. For this, especially, I appreciated my team's attitude tonight. Our squad is a strong one and my decision [to field Lorenzo Insigne instead of Goran Pandev] does not get me credit; the rewards are for him [match winner Insigne].

We lacked a bit of control in the game in the final minutes. We needed more possession, but unfortunately the third goal didn't come and we were under pressure until the end. The atmosphere here is fantastic, our fans are wonderful. Let's see how far we can go. This victory is good for confidence.

Jürgen Klopp, Dortmund coach
The atmosphere among the players is fairly mediocre to be honest. Without [Roman] Weidenfeller's red card and Mats's [Hummels] injury and my red card, we would have perhaps managed to get a result here. So much went wrong today. My actions before I was sent off were silly and I have to take the full blame for it. I've already apologised to my team and to the referee and acknowledge the fact it was my own fault.

We definitely did not put in our best display today, but nothing is lost yet. We  lost this match by the smallest of margins. We now know we can beat Napoli – if we play well. However, we didn't stick to our game plan, especially in the first half. We were not aggressive enough, but still won a lot of balls because our opponents had a lot of respect for us. Our passing wasn't good enough to take advantage of this. In the second half we were down to ten men, but still pulled a goal back and hit the crossbar. All things considered, it would have been great if we had taken a point.
