Borussia Dortmund left-back Marcel Schmelzer is expected to be out of action for around three weeks because of a thigh tear.
Schmelzer picked up the injury in training on Friday and is certain to miss Dortmund's UEFA Champions League Group F fixture against Olympique de Marseille on Tuesday. The Germany defender played the full 90 minutes as Jürgen Klopp's side lost 2-1 against SSC Napoli on matchday one.
Schmelzer should be available again in time for Dortmund's game against Arsenal FC on 22 October, but is unlikely to feature in Germany's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden.
