La Real's Prieto suffers injury setback

Already shorn of Esteban Granero for next Wednesday's Bayer 04 Leverkusen assignment, Real Sociedad de Fútbol are also likely to be missing the injured Xabi Prieto.

Real Sociedad de Fútbol have suffered a setback ahead of their UEFA Champions League visit to Bayer 04 Leverkusen next Wednesday with midfielder Xabi Prieto likely to miss the Group A game with a thigh tear.

The 30-year-old sustained the injury during last night's 4-1 Liga loss at FC Barcelona and despite the Basque club failing to announce an estimated recovery time, the presence of a tear should indicate a lay-off of around three weeks for the San Sebastian native.

La Real are already without midfielder Esteban Granero for the trip to Germany after the 26-year-old ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the 2-0 matchday one reverse at home to FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
