Paris Saint-Germain FC have continued to bolster their squad for the new season with the signing of defender Marcos Aoás Corrêa, commonly known as Marquinhos, from AS Roma for €32m.
The 19-year-old has committed to spending the next five seasons in the French capital after completing a medical today. "I am delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a club where so many Brazilians have played and helped write the club's history," Marquinhos said.
"I will do everything I can to continue that tradition and write my own name into the club's history books. PSG will help me continue my progression alongside exceptional players, with the desire to win trophies and also win the hearts of the supporters."
The teenage centre-back began his career at Brazilian side SC Corinthians Paulista, where he lifted the Copa Libertadores in 2012, before making 26 Serie A appearances for Roma last term. "I'll never forget Rome and what I experienced there," he said.
Still uncapped by Brazil, Marquinhos is PSG's third summer acquisition after the French champions enticed Edinson Cavani from SSC Napoli and LOSC Lille's Lucas Digne. Laurent Blanc's men enter the UEFA Champions League in the group stage, the draw for which takes place on 29 August in Monaco.
