Frank de Boer and his assistant Hennie Spijkerman have signed new four-year deals to coach AFC Ajax until the summer of 2017.
Former Dutch international and Ajax, FC Barcelona, Galatasaray AŞ, Rangers FC and Al Rayyan defender De Boer was promoted from youth to head coach of the Amsterdam club in December 2010.
Since then the 43-year-old has won three successive Eredivisie titles, equalling the record of Rinus Michels and Louis van Gaal, and is preparing for another UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.
"This new contract is exactly what I wanted," De Boer said. "We reached an agreement quickly, as both sides were very satisfied. Now I can continue what we have started and I really look forward to that. I really am happy here, just as my family is. I still see a lot of challenges with Ajax."
