Jürgen Klopp, Dortmund coach
This game ranks very highly for us personally and it's an extraordinary moment. The entire Champions League season has been running very smoothly for us. Shakhtar showed their quality in the second half but we delivered a fantastic performance for 80 minutes of this game.
We don't have any influence on other people's perception of whether or not we can reach the final. The other coaches have been quite clever in making us out to be the favourites. There are plenty of teams that have been eliminated despite having performed brilliantly before, and I can't find any team that would be a dream draw for us. We are simply extremely happy about this victory and I'm very proud of my team.
Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar coach
I believe Dortmund deserved to go through. Today it was really tough to beat this team. Until the 30th minute they didn't create much, while we were looking for a chance on the counterattack. But then Borussia scored from a corner and that changed almost everything.
At the half-time break I told the players that we needed to change the game, and you could see that on the field. We had our chances and it's a pity that we didn't take them. The mistake by our goalkeeper [for Dortmund's third goal] meant it was all over. Overall, the result corresponds with what we all saw on the pitch. I hope Dortmund reach the final as they are a really strong side.
