AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong will miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his left Achilles tendon in the club's 4-2 win at Torino FC on Sunday.
"The lads have dedicated the victory to Nigel, who unfortunately has suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon injury that will see him out for the season," commented coach Massimiliano Allegri after the Rossoneri's third straight league success. "It's a big loss for the team and takes the shine off the win," added Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.
The 28-year-old Dutchman, who joined from Manchester City FC in the summer, featured four times in this season's UEFA Champions League as Milan finished second in Group C to book their place in the round of 16.
