This performance will only fuel the euphoria, but I think you have to put this match into perspective. Our first-half performance was outstanding and very fluent. We scored great goals, including two free-kicks. However, you also have to take into consideration that our opponents weren't really all there today.

[Claudio] Pizarro was signed as an additional option in attack. We have learned from our mistakes from last season. We were missing these alternatives against Chelsea in the final, but now we have a much bigger squad that's packed with quality. [Mario] Mandžukić got ill shortly before the game. I also decided to bench Toni Kroos, despite his superb performance at the weekend. I think that if he keeps going the way he has been, he cannot only become a good player, but a world-class player.

At half-time I told the team that we deserved to have a five-goal lead thanks to our superb performance. We wanted to continue playing with a lot of focus and avoid conceding any goals and, if possible, score more ourselves. However, obviously that's easier said than done.

The hardest thing now is to manage the repercussions of a rout such as this. We'll have to put this aside quickly. Fortunately, we play again in three days, and that is a good thing. We must forget the Champions League for a while. We just showed we are not good enough to play in this competition.

In the league, we have ten points out of our last 12 and we want to make that 13 out of 15 in order to return to the European spots. In our last two matches in the Champions League, we will try to salvage our pride, to score goals and avoid finishing on zero points.
