Two-goal Jackson Martinez spoke of realising a personal "dream", but according to colleague Silvestre Varela it is FC Porto's team ethic that is making the difference in Group A.

After such end-to-end drama at the Estádio do Dragão, players from both teams needed to catch their breath. FC Porto were left to reflect on a victory that takes them to the brink of the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, while FC Dynamo Kyiv rued a defeat that leaves them with work to do. Jackson Martinez spoke of a "dream" first two goals in Europe's top club competition and team-mate and fellow scorer Silvestre Varela spoke of Porto's spirit as they were twice pegged back before winning 3-2.

Jackson Martinez, Porto forward
It was a dream way to score in the Champions League after missing the chance to do so in the previous game. We were up against difficult opponents so to score the second goal that earned victory and the three points gave me immense satisfaction.

In the second half we didn't play with the style we're used to, but we kept going and managed to score the third goal. I'm going to keep improving with the help of my team-mates, especially James [Rodríguez], with whom I have a very good understanding.

Silvestre Varela, Porto forward
We stuck together as a team and we were well organised, but to get the victory was the most important thing. My goal came from a quick team move, and fortunately I managed to finish it to round off a good goal.

We've managed to get all the available points so far. We haven't earned anything yet, though, but we're in a very good position. We've got a good attitude, we help each other and that can make the difference between us and other teams.

Miguel Veloso, Dynamo Kyiv midfielder
We scored twice away from home but unfortunately they got more from the game than we did. Porto had that bit of luck and we didn't capitalise on all our chances. It'll be difficult [to progress to the round of 16].

We knew the Porto's quality, and the quality of Paris Saint-Germain, but we'll keep doing our best to get as many points as possible. Without a doubt, when we play at home we'll give the best possible response in what is a decisive game.
