FC Dynamo Kyiv have dismissed coach Yuri Semin and his staff following Sunday's 4-1 loss to FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Cup.
Dynamo had also lost their previous game, against Paris Saint-Germain FC in UEFA Champions League Group A, by the same scoreline last week. "Dynamo Football Club thank Yuri and his coaching team for their cooperation and wish them success in the future," said a club statement. "The name of his successor will be revealed in the near future."
Dynamo have avoided defeat in just one of their last four fixtures in all competitions. That run has marked the end of Semin's second spell at the helm, having previously guided them to their most recent Ukrainian Premier League title – in 2008.
Dynamo continue their UEFA Champions League campaign at home to GNK Dinamo Zagreb on 3 October.
