PSG prowess impresses Ibrahimović

"Things went well," said Zlatan Ibrahimović, understating the obvious after Paris Saint-Germain FC kicked off their Group A campaign with a 4-1 win over shell-shocked FC Dynamo Kyiv.

Striker Zlatan Ibrahimović said a "fantastic" Parc des Princes atmosphere inspired Paris Saint-Germain FC to a 4-1 victory over FC Dynamo Kyiv in their UEFA Champions League Group A opener, though visiting midfielder Niko Kranjčar felt his side had made life easy for the hosts.

Zlatan Ibrahimović, PSG forward
We have the quality and ability to play in the Champions League. This was the first game for our new team and we hope to continue like this. Not everything can work perfectly from the start when you have so many players arriving in the summer, but we've played better in recent games and are getting more confident.

The atmosphere was fantastic. Things went well – we just enjoyed it and tried to give the fans everything we had. Today we gave them four goals and they enjoyed it. Today wasn't an easy game though. The 4-1 result doesn't mean we played a bad team. Certainly, we made them look bad today and we were the stronger team.

Blaise Matuidi, PSG midfielder
We played with intensity in the first half and scored some goals. It's very satisfying for everyone. But we must not get carried away. The road is still long. We have shown that people can count on PSG. All the players are finding their feet now, we are giving everything, and it's paying off. It was fantastic to play in the Champions League. When you hear the music for the first time you feel very proud. We'll try to take the same spirit with us to Porto.

Niko Kranjčar, Dynamo midfielder
It's only the first game, and everyone will find it hard here against PSG. We know they have great individuals and will only get stronger. With all the players they have, they will most probably win all their home games.

But we gave them easy goals, cheap goals, conceding two from set pieces and a penalty. We tried not to make the same mistakes in the second half. We tried to play a bit better and tried to control the game more. Obviously they took their foot off the gas a bit as well. It was better in the second half, but the game was over after 45 minutes.

We play against Dinamo Zagreb next. I know them really well. They're full of talent. They don't have the experience of playing in the Champions League, and it is a must-win game for us if we want to compete with Porto and PSG for the first two spots.

Ideye Brown, Dynamo forward
I don't think PSG were too strong for us. They're a good team, but we played very badly and when you play badly you lose. The penalty we conceded for the first goal was a problem. After that we lost concentration. I'm used to playing on my own in attack, so I'm not going to complain about that. Sometimes I have a lot of the ball and sometimes I don't. The most important thing is to make the most of the opportunities I get.
